Will USA Follow EU’s Decision To Ban Neonicotinoids?

The decision has been made! The EU has voted to ban three major neonicotinoids! After decades of hard work, education and a brutal battle that ends a long scientific and legal battle to ban the most toxic and widely used chemicals used on the earth which have been scientifically proven to cause harm to bee, pollinators and the environment!

This is historic but will the USA and Canada follow? What about Australia? What impact does this have on the global agricultural community? Thiacloprid is another widely used neonicotinoid. According to Dutch toxicologist,Dr Henk Tennekes, who is a world-renowned expert on neonicotinoid, “Acetamiprid and thiacloprid can be as toxic to honey bees as imidacloprid and thiamethoxam!”

Although this is a huge step forward and a great victory, other global leaders in agriculture must follow. By design, these chemicals were created to kill the pollinators they are killing and to negate that would negate the effectiveness of the chemical which is undisputed. What is also undisputed is research also conducted by Dr. Tennekes which is the dose-time ratio. According to this critical research, once a certain dosage has been reached, death is eminent.
