Smartcool Systems: The Power Of Innovation For Energy Conservation

Using Technology To Economically Reduce Carbon Footprints

For the average consumer, a loaf of bread is just that, a loaf of bread. For the conscious consumer, it is a whole different perspective. The conscious consumer wants to know about the entire process from seed to shelf. Especially in the organic industry, the conscious consumer is choosing to vote with each dollar spent to support companies that are making every effort to be environmentally responsible.

Energy and The Cost Of Baking Bread

How Much Energy Does It Take To Produce Two Slices Of Bread?

Whose responsibility is it to reduce carbon emissions?

When businesses operate sustainably, it benefits everyone. Reducing energy consumption will reduce operating, manufacturing and consumption costs thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions. However, as energy prices soar along with rising atmospheric temperatures, energy efficiency is something we can no longer ignore. Businesses, especially, must find ways to reduce the amount of energy used without reducing quality. This is no easy task because with the current economic climate many producers, manufacturers and retailers are already working with small margins. It is a competition that could mean the end of a business if the wrong decision is made.

Creating an energy-efficient business does not mean that you have to dispose of all existing equipment. To invest in equipment that may or may not be worth the money is risky and would also contribute to the landfills which is not very eco-friendly.

North America spends over $26 Billion annually on electricity for A/C and refrigeration systems alone. In the US, the energy consumption of A/C and refrigeration generates 238 million tonnes of greenhouse gases

Until we are no longer dependent upon fossil fuels, the energy we never have to use is always the best alternative. Thanks to innovative technologies like Smartcool, we can reduce our energy consumption, become more energy efficient, with no risk to existing equipment performance and make more of an economic impact as opposed to pursuing alternative energy solutions that are often quite costly and inefficient.

What Does Smartcool Do?

Smartcool Systems Inc.,(TSX-V: SSC)  is a global clean technology company offering a unique line of energy efficiency solutions that reduce the electrical consumption and peak energy demand of any air conditioning, heat pump or refrigeration system (HVAC-R).

  1. Thanks for sharing. This industry is huge and growing as reducing energy costs becomes more and more popular. This should be a great interview. Looking forward to it.

Everyone kept preaching solar and now look at where we are. I think she is right that we need to use LESS energy until we are off fossil fuels. I am looking forward to hearing what George Burnes has to say about his technology.

I always thought of solar too. I agree, it does make sense to use less of what we have, esp since it works. Time will tell!

  4. Well, the “anointed one” made all sorts of promised and look at the mess we are in. All of the foreigners own everything as it is. We need to start doing business smarter. I just hope we don’t see Cap and Trade get pushed through. That is a nightmare for all except the big greedy corporations.

  6. The costs of heating and cooling in the USA are sky high. We are not about to give up our quality of life and need to accept that as how it is. Regardless of all of these bleeding hearts out there, it all boils down to the fact that we need to cut back what we use till SOMETHING…ANYTHING that can be approved by the powers that be is implemented.

You would think that businesses in the natural foods industry would already have sought this company out a long time ago. I checked out the company and they are everywhere but in the USA. Once again, we have BIG corporations dictating what can and can not be done here. Sounds like a very promising technology.

How come the natural foods industry isn’t all over technologies like this? Perhaps if they were, the costs wouldn’t be so high. Just a thought. Thanks for the info.

Just saw this on twitter. Very interesting that they can cut energy but not the capacity for maintaining cooling. More supermarkets should be doing this…esp the mini marts which are HUGE sources of waste when it comes to energy.

  10. I wonder if they have a model for small cottage type businesses. Electricity is so high. It really makes it tough to get ahead.

  11. Solar was a waste of an investment for my business. The panels didn’t last after the first Noreaster. It is tough to make the right choices when it comes to energy efficiency.

It is interesting that so much energy is consumed yet we still have not found another stable sustainable resource. No one wants to admit that we need to still use fossil fuels but that is an excellent point. They need to get moving with allowing the new technologies to do what is needed.

Very good and informative show. Given that we are in a crisis with our economy where many are holding their wallets shut tight, this not only presents a solution to the home owner but to businesses. I follow your show faithfully and am glad that you were able to bring to the forefront a company like this through social media. I wouldn’t have known that there was such technology available, but I do now. You have quality shows and incredible guests. You work hard and it shows!

I just paid electricity bill; it s a huge amount of money that I can not believe that we did really consume it!!!! people are fed up of energy expenses and are so thirsty for something new and more beneficial & economic too & I think this invention is what we are waiting for at list for this moment of time.
    Great post June
