Every time I lecture, I am amazed at the pre-conceived notions that people have about organic and what organic means. People really need to understand that this movement is about making the products we use safer. It is certainly not about using the cheapest ingredients or materials out there to simply meet a high demand. On that note, here is a simple list of some of the more common beliefs out there that need enlightenment.

Bees are critical to our existence. For anyone that lives in the Upstate, NY area or can drive to it, this is a spectacular even that is free! It is the Betterbee annual field day event!
My 4th of July Peace Lily
This morning I spent several hours transplanting some houseplants into larger containers. Oddly enough, one plant in particular that I was transplanting was the Peace Lily. It made me think about immigration and how so many people from all over the world have settled here. I thought about how immigrants, just like plants need to spread their roots. Roots, of course, are where everything begins and grows.
