On 08/05/2010, Mr. Lee Doren was my guest on The Organic View. He is your average citizen that has absolutely no connections to cosmetics, organics and was not funded by some corporate giant to create his viral critique of Annie Leonard’s “The Story of Cosmetics”.

The Reaction
He created this critique on a Sunday afternoon, with no funding or encouragement to do so, just his own disgust for false information. Given the fact that he is an attorney, I would definitely want this guy on my side if it came down to litigation.
Keep in mind, during the interview he was asked directly if he is against safety in cosmetics and health and beauty products. He firmly responded “NO!”
While it is important that people are protected from companies that are looking to take short cuts that will endanger the health of the very people who buy their products, it is equally important that the information given is factual. So, there you have it. Is this simply a misunderstanding or a case where people are being scared in order to make a change? On a side note, Ms. Leonard refuses to debate Mr. Doren, who has repeatedly disproved her claims in her scare-tactic videos. What do you think?

I have a very bad info on cosmetics , because i am not using any make up at all !
i prefer to use all natural products & facials made by me , i have some secrets on some facial masks purely natural and very safe too !
PUB & videos are really attracting people more than magazines or books , but in the other word the awareness can give you ability for a good choice .

Its amazing that CFSC, Stacy Malkan and Annie Leonard can still be spilling this jargon! Lee, you did a great job in your critique! I hope to continue making natural, safe, organic cosmetics in spite of CFSC wanting to get rid of natural ingredients because they contain carcinogens.
People need to be accountable for their information and products! Thanks June for helping spread the word on the misinformation! I love make up, it is a part of my everyday life but it is sad and disgusting to see how “misguiding” people is a tactic on making a buck!
