Impact On Honeybee Navigation

In the latest research published by the team of Dr. Randolf Menzel, Dr. Johannes Fischer, Dr. Teresa Müller, Dr. Anne-Kathrin Spatz, Dr. Uwe Greggers, and Dr. Bernd Grünewald, titled, Neonicotinoids Interfere with Specific Components of Navigation in Honeybees,the impact of three neonicotinoids was tested to see the effects on honeybee navigation.

The neonicotinoids: imidacloprid, clothianidin and thiacloprid were selected because of how they directly work on the brain and change the function of the brain. The chemicals were applied at non-lethal doses in order to test their effects on honeybee navigation.

  1. Don’t know if this makes any difference. We live in Climax NY. I have s couple car tents that we used to live with Yellow jackets and Bumble bees that we have always had to co-exist as I needed parts from the tents for things and we just had to live together. That was the past, this past summer there were no Bees! No Yellow jackets, no Honey bees, all I seen were 2 sand wasps and 3 honey bees in 2015, no other bees, no bees in any car tents. Ya know after spending many years with them, you just expect them and go through the process of co-existing with them. Where are they?
