Is Your Relationship Unhealthy?

Are you Trapped in an Unhealthy Relationship?

Everyone looks for and needs a varying array of personality traits from their Mr. or Mrs. Right. Unfortunately some people are always looking for their Mr. or Mrs. Right, but he or she might not exist or worse still, the perceived Mr. or Mrs. Right does not provide the level of fulfillment desired or expected.

How happy are you in your relationship?

Relationships can be complex emotional journeys of personal development, that make you question yourself as an individual, as a man or woman, as a lover and a partner. Do any of the following apply to your relationship:

  • Do you pick the same “type” all the time?
  • Do you get jealous easily?
  • Do you attract jealous partners?
  • Do you have a hard time being faithful to one person?
  • Do you constantly feel inadequate all the time in your relationship?
  • Do you feel you are in a “one-way” relationship?
  • Do you or your partner have difficulty saying, “I love you”?
  • Do you or your partner have issues with “pda” (public displays of affection)?
  • Can you talk to your partner or does s/he tune you out all the time?

Questions like these play on the individuals mind, having a huge impact on their self -image, self- belief, sense of direction and purpose. These thoughts lead to unhealthy relationships that have a negative impact on both parties, depressing the individual’s ability to see things from other perspectives. An unhealthy relationship can trap individuals in a vicious cycle of self-neglect and self-doubt. Preventing each individual from being who they want to be in the relationship may affect all areas of that person’s life.

An Alternative Approach

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a form of applied psychology described as the study of subjective experience. NLP focuses on how we interpret information through our five senses and create our reality which we then use to navigate are way through our lives. Through understanding how we perceive what has happened in our relationships and how the other person has perceived what has happened, we can start moving towards a resolution that benefits both parties. We are all unique individuals, finely tuned to our own skill set that has been developed through our upbringing. By learning about ourselves and what we look for and thrive from we can be more open minded and flexible with the choices we make in our relationships.

NLP provides a series of insights which enables the individual to understand him or herself as well as the impact that he or she may have on another person. This provides clarity and the ability to take charge of the results that the individual is having rather than being at the cause of another person’s behavior.

  1. Thanks for your post on the travel industry. I’d personally also like to include that if your senior contemplating traveling, it can be absolutely vital that you buy traveling insurance for senior citizens. When traveling, elderly people are at greatest risk of having a health emergency. Obtaining right insurance package to your age group can look after your health and give you peace of mind.
