Keynote speakers include LIPA’s Chief Operating Officer, John McMahon and David M. Daly, Vice President for LIPA Transition at PSE&G.

The event will bring together industry experts, educators and business leaders from across Long Island to discuss the transition of energy for commercial and residential customers from LIPA to PSE&G, energy-efficient solutions, plus trends and initiatives vital for local economic growth.

Event sponsor Trinity Solar will host a panel of experts speaking about energy for the 21st Century and Renewable Energy Solutions For Businesses.

In addition, a “Student Power and CleanTech” program at the event will bring together Long Island College and University students with New York state CleanTech leaders from business, government, academia, industry trade associations and professional societies. These organizations and leaders recognize that the region’s future success is dependent on identifying and attracting high-performing students to gain a distinct competitive advantage in this fast growing sector. The Student Power program is designed to introduce students with leaders in the energy sector.

  1. Unless we begin using renewable energy resources, we are going to continue to experience problems with energy. We need to educate our young people. This sounds like a very interesting event. I hope more states create similar programs.

  2. I am originally from New York and would love to attend. It sounds like a great event. It is great to learn about different activities which promote energy conservation and clean tech.

  3. Let’s face it, college kids are going to be the ones burdened with the demands for new technology to keep our lifestyles as they are. Energy, whether it is renewable or fossil fuel does have a cost. We need to keep the educational efforts going to keep the costs down.

  4. After Sandy, we need to get our act together. That was such a big lesson for us in NY and NJ. Good to know that this is going on.
