His passion stems from childhood, growing up in Memphis, where his grandparents inspired him to grow, prepare and appreciate good food. Bryant completed the chef’s training program at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in NYC. He has an MA in American History from NYU and a BA in English from Xavier University in Louisiana. From 2008-2010, Bryant was a fellow of the Food and Society Policy Fellows Program. For over a decade, Bryant has worked to build a more just and sustainable food system, and cooking has been an important tool for illuminating the intersections of poverty, structural racism and food insecurity. He uses the pleasures of the table to shift people’s attitudes, habits and politics in an effort to ensure that everyone in this country of abundance has access to healthful food.

Dr. Agronin trained in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and later completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Agronin is a nationally recognized expert in psychiatric illnesses in the elderly, and in 2008 was named the “Clinician of the Year” by the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, awarded annually to one of its members who has demonstrated a “profound commitment to the field of clinical geriatric psychiatry by providing, promoting and assuring access to quality mental health care for older adults.” In 2011, Dr. Agronin was elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Beth Hillson: Countdown & Cupcakes For Celiac Awareness - May 04,2012

Countdown and Cupcakes is an event is sponsored by the American Celiac Disease Alliance, a not-for-profit organization that advocates for the needs of celiac and gluten-sensitive patients. Last year, on August 2, the anniversary of the passage of the Food Allergen Labeling and Protection Act (FALCPA) and two months after the Gluten Free Labeling Summit, FDA announced it would allow 60 more days of comments on the gluten free labeling proposal. When the comment period closed in October, the agency had received hundreds and hundreds of comments. Among the letters was one signed by nearly 5,000 individuals urging the FDA to require products labeled gluten-free to meet a set standard not to exceed 20ppm, the same standard adopted for use in the international community. The month of May has been designated Celiac Awareness month. Why Did Connecticut Cave With The GMO Right To Know? - May 05,2012

The battle to mandate GMO labeling in the state of Connecticut looked very promising. 90% of the CT residents polled supported mandatory GMO labeling. Early vote counts within the legislature showed the majority of legislators were in favor of this bill. However, in recent developments, it has been found that this bill has now been eviscerated. According to former New York City prosecutor Tara Cook-Littman, “The constitutional argument is absurd, and everyone knows it. As long as Connecticut law makers had a legitimate state interest that was reasonably related to the labeling of products produced from the process of genetic engineering, the GMO labeling bill would be considered constitutional by any court of law." Cook-Littman, a CT resident, is the co-founder of Right To Know CT, along with Analiese Paik. She stated that representatives and senators who learned of Friday night’s political maneuverings are equally disgusted. Littman says, “it appears that the biotech industry’s influence was in place all along, waiting for this tactic to be deployed at the last minute, with no time to argue before the vote.” Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by special guests Analiese Paik, Tara Cook-Littman co-founders of Right To Know CT. Joel Salatin "Folks, This Ain’t Normal!" - May 14,2012

Thanks to decades of clever mass marketing campaigns, the average person has become completely disconnected with how our food is grown and also what real food should look like. With the agro-chemical companies chiming away that “there is going to be a food shortage if we don’t produce more food and decrease the world population in order for everyone to survive,” the reality is most people do not have a clue as to how their food is produced, where it is grown or how it is grown. Processed foods, initially created with the intention to save time, are simply not a healthy choice. Some of these processed, ready to “heat and serve” products made with “real chicken” are breaded, seasoned and disguised in all sorts of geometrical shapes so that children will be encouraged to eat them. Susan Thixton -Deciphering The Diamond Pet Food Recall - May 16,2012

In a press release issued on April 6, 2012, “Diamond Pet Foods voluntarily recalled a limited number of dry dog food bags due to a potential health risk. Recall is limited to one formula of Diamond Naturals distributed to 12 states; no illnesses reported.” The situation became more intense as more details were revealed and more products were added. Pet food activist and expert, Susan Thixton has been investigating this recall, trying to help petsumers find out what they really need to know and which products to avoid. “The original recalls were for dog food only, cat food was not mentioned. But somewhere along this process, cat food began being recalled too - without much public warnings. The information still isnt clear about cat foods. The Diamond Recall Information website states "certain batches of several brands of dog and cat food produced in its Gaston, South Carolina plant" have been recalled. Children of Vietnam Veterans & Those Exposed To Agent Orange - May 24,2012

The Children of Vietnam Veterans and Those Exposed To Agent Orange & Dioxin is an organization founded by children of Vietnam Veterans dedicated to finding justice, finding answers and offering support for the generational victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin. This is the first group of its kind because it was founded by children of Vietnam Veterans who desperately want our peers to no longer feel alone. They acknowledge the vast amount of people around the globe who have come into contact with Agent Orange such as Americans, Australians, Vietnamese, Koreans, Canadians, Japanese, People of Guam and many more. Because the generational victims are rarely recognized, COVVHA seeks to collectively bring about change and make the voices of those affected heard.

Kelly L. Derricks is the daughter of deceased Vietnam Veteran Harry C. Mackel, Jr. Harry died in 1982 at the age of 37 after being exposed to Agent Orange while serving two tours in Vietnam in addition to a tour on Johnston Island. After serving with the United States Air Force, Harry went on to serve the City of Philadelphia as a highly regarded and awarded officer of the Stakeout Unit with the police department. Kelly was only seven years old when her father died.

Kelly has been working as an independent Agent Orange/Dioxin advocate since early 2007. She has expanded her work under the name “Truth Teller” to legislative areas, environment and agriculture, public speaking, blog authoring, and medical awareness, while tying everything back to encompass her main platform of seeking justice for those exposed.
