More and more conscious consumers are opting to grow their own food due to concerns about the effects of gmo’s, chemically laden conventional food and imported foods. Over the last few years, aquaponics has become the most popular method for growing your own food. By definition, aquaponics is the joint cultivation (growing), of fish and plants in a man-made re-circulating ecosystem that allows sustainable natural food growing without the use of harmful pesticides or chemical fertilizers. With the rapidly increasing demand for locally grown organic foods, aquaponics systems are being used in urban environments as well as in the suburbs. Sahib Aquaponics Research Farm is an urban, sustainable hybrid Aquaponics food garden in Winter Park, Florida USA. This project was inspired by the desire to empower one to be able to grow food locally and naturally without the use of harmful pesticides or chemical fertilizers. This became crucial due to numerous factors such as the spiraling food costs due to ever increasing reliance on fossil fuels, the undesirable genetic modifications of seeds and produce, an indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the growing processes of most our food, the resulting severe soil contamination and shortage of clean agricultural land, the acute shortage of fresh water and global climate change and the rapid increase of the world’s population and resulting increased demand of food and potential food shortages and security issues. Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer talks to Pardeep K. Vedi, the founder of Sahibs Aquaponic Produce Farm to discuss the amazing world of aquaponics. David Vetter: The Divine Connection In Organic Farming - Apr 02,2012

"All things are connected. Whatever befalls the Earth, befalls the sons of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life. He is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.” - Chief Seattle.

When it comes to our food, there is a divine presence in nature that cannot be denied. The good health of the environment has afforded human beings the luxury of organic sustainable nourishment long before mankind decided to perfect what has already been perfected by nature with the introduction of GMO’s. Only with good soil health can we produce the life giving food which we need as humans to survive. With the relentless goal to please shareholders, regardless of the potential and proven catastrophic effects, the agro-chemical companies have pushed their propaganda, insisting that without their technology, we will not be able to produce enough food to feed what they claim is an overpopulated world. While most people are somewhat familiar with GMO’s, the companion technology, neonicotinoids, makes them one dynamic duo that makes their existence in nature sheer ecocide: a crime against all living beings. Organic agricultural leaders such as David Vetter have been advocating organics for decades. Organic agriculture is not only better for the environment but is better for human health and is more economic. David is the past president of the Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA), contributed to the development of organic standards, has conducted organic farm and processor inspections, and has reviewed applications and inspections for certification domestically and internationally. Dave now runs Grain Place Foods milling. He received a BS in agronomy from UNL and Masters in Divinity. Although he never intended to be a preacher, Dave sees a connection between farming and spirituality. Dave has built the business into a $4.2 million enterprise with 21 employees.

Mark Crutcher: Maafa 21 - Apr 03,2012

According to Merriam-Webster, eugenics is defined as ascience that deals with the improvement (as by control of human mating) of hereditary qualities of a race or breed. Mark Crutcher produced a documentary called MAAFA21, which focuses on eugenics in the African-American community. The title comes from the Swahili term "Maafa", which means "tragedy" or "disaster", and is used to describe the centuries of oppression of African people, globally, during slavery, apartheid and colonial rule. "21" refers to the maafa of the 21st century. With the terminal disease rates within the African-American community, it almost seems to be expected that inevitably their fate should be tied in to a disease that is caused by diet or environment. Maafa21 seeks to prove that with the eugenics movement, African-Americans are being targeted even at an earlier point in life, straight from the womb. Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer talks to Mark Crutcher to discuss Maafi21. Stay tuned!

F William Engdahl -GMO’s & Eugenics: Is There A Connection? - Apr 04,2012

“Control oil and you control the nations; control food and you control the people…” Henry Kissinger.

In F. William Engdahl’s book, Seeds of Destruction, Engdahl explores the topic of population growth and the concerns about national security. He takes a historical encyclopedic approach to demonstrate the power of food as the new choice weapon. As disturbing as the subject of eugenics may be, there is concern whether this agenda is very much alive and part of the hidden agenda of genetic manipulation. Author, William Engdahl, a leading economist and analyst of geopolitics, has written about the issues pertaining to energy, politics and economics for over 30 years. He contributes regularly to publications like Japans Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Foresight magazine, Grants Investor.com, European Banker and Business Banker International. Hes also a frequent speaker at geopolitical, economic and energy related international conferences and is a distinguished Research Associate of the Centre for Research on Globalization where he contributes regularly. Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer talks to F. William Engdahl. Stay tuned!

Rev Mitchell C. Hescox -Mercury & The Unborn - Apr 06,2012

Approximately 1 in every 6 babies in the USA are born with harmful mercury levels in their blood. Consumption of fish contaminated by mercury is the main route of human exposure. The mercury drops from the air into the water system, where fish we eat eventually take it up. Mercury is extremely toxic to the brain and nervous system, especially to the rapidly developing brain of the unborn child during early pregnancy. When a pregnant woman eats mercury-contaminated fish, the mercury in the fish enters the mother’s blood stream. Once in the mother’s bloodstream, mercury can move directly across the placenta to enter the body of her unborn child. One of the body’s protective shields against damage to the brain, called “the blood-brain barrier,” is not fully developed until the first year of life. Thus, in the unborn child, mercury can cross this incomplete barrier and accumulate in the brain, causing developmental disabilities and brain damage resulting in lowered intelligence and learning problems. This has lifetime implications. One study found that “the resulting loss of intelligence causes diminished economic productivity that persists over the entire lifetime of these children.” The unborn are also being harmed by air pollution (SO2) that will be reduced as a co-benefit of the mercury standard. This pollution has been linked to birth defects, low birth weight, premature births, stillbirths and infant deaths. The Evangelical Environmental Network is a ministry dedicated to the care of Gods creation. The Rev. Mitchell Hescox serves as President/CEO of The Evangelical Environmental Network publisher, Creation Care Magazine. He has testified before Congress, appeared on CNN, NPR, PRI and numerous radio programs both Christian and secular. He has also been named one of the ten Environmental Religious Saints by Huffington Post. Stay tuned!

Susan Thixton-Please Remove Jerky Treats From Retail Shelves - Apr 09,2012

It was only 5 years ago that, the USA and Canada suffered the largest pet food recall in history due to the use of Melamine. This additive is used for the purpose of increasing protein levels when added to vegetable proteins such as corn, soy and wheat. Subsequently, melamine is lethal to cats and dogs yet it is still being used! In fact, it was the primary reason for import refusal for numerous products including Jerky Treats all within the last several months. Recently, the FDA released a pet food safety video which according to expert, Susan Thixton, is full of misleading statements. Susan also researched the entire list of imported foods, both human and for pets which were rejected due to melamine. She has pleaded to no avail with major retailers who continue to sell these products to remove them from the shelves until there is solid proof that these pet products are not harmful. In support of Susans efforts, The Organic View left an invitation to Walmarts public relations voicemail on Thursday to join the conversation during this interview. Susan is taking action! She has now waged a campaign for pet parents to take action to protect our pets. In a letter to the FDA, she wrote, “our pleas to retailers to pull the treats are not helping. Any advice the FDA can share would be helpful.” If the imported pet food contains ingredients that are toxic to our pets, what can we do about it if there is no cooperation from the regulatory agencies, the manufacturer or the retailers? Can pet parents do something to protect their animal companions from consuming these toxic treats and foods? Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by special guest, Susan Thixton, Founder of Truth About Pet Food about how you can take action! Stay tuned!

Stay tuned!

Walter Haefeker: Protect Our Honeybees- Boycott Bayer - Apr 26,2012

There is a growing body of evidence that neonicotinoids are a major factor in the rapidly declining global bee losses. These chemicals also have a negative impact on human health as proven by the research conducted by Dr. Henk Tennekes and described in A Disaster In The Making. Honeybees are key pollinators that we depend upon in agriculture and as such remains an issue for the entire world. Many citizens are upset about the failure of politicians and regulators to stand up to corporate interests when it comes to protecting our health and the environment. It seems that we are powerless in the face of corporate power of the coal industry or the agrochemical industry. In whatever is left of our democracies, the choices we would like to make are not on the ballot. But there may be one "ballot" left to us: the dollar, the euro, the yen. Therefore, they are encouraging the public to take action by participating in a boycott of Bayer products. On April 27, there will be a demonstration by representatives from the international beekeeping community in Germany at Bayers Corporate Headquarters regarding this issue. Professional beekeeper, Walter Haefeker, who has been serving as President of the European Professional Beekeepers Association (EPBA) will also be participating.Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by Walter Haefeker to discuss how your dollars do matter and why you should boycott Bayer.
