This has commonly occurred when enthusiastic students have applied what they have been taught, often without the full comprehension of the technique's underlying psychology and the ecology assessment required before the technique can be used. There is a need for clear delineation between the business, clinical and coaching applications of NLP, which is gradually being addressed by the work done through the ANLP and The NLP Research and Recognition Project (R and R). R and R is an organization which seeks to develop a program to network, support and participate in the long needed research of NLP. The organization also gathers the recognition necessary for its widespread practice.
