This online workshop will be hosted by June Stoyer and conducted by Philip Chandler, bee expert and host of The Barefoot Beekeeper.
This is a rare opportunity to learn about ‘natural beekeeping’ in top bar hives directly from the author of The Barefoot Beekeeper.
Phil Chandler Will Teach You Backyard Beekeeping
This is a simple, practical way to have healthy and happy bees in your garden or back yard, with the possibility of your own honey harvest, but without the cost and complications associated with conventional beekeeping.
You will learn:

- the nature of honeybees and their relationship with flowering plants
- the honeybee colony as super-organism
- the basics of natural beekeeping in top bar hives
PART II 20th February 2011 21:00 GMT or 9pm GMT/4pm, EST (please check your time zone!)
- the principles of natural beekeeping
- the art of negotiating with bees
- how to find bees and what to do in your first beekeeping year

Because of the amount of resources and time Phil is donating, we ask that you make a small donation to support his efforts in the apiary world. Normally, a beekeeping class costs close to $500, not to mention lodging and travel expenses. For a small donation of your choice, you can learn from your own home and keep backyard beekeeping alive!

Pretty cool stuff June. I don’t think people realize HOW important bees are to our food supply… I am allergic to them but always leave them alone
